Enabling personalised audience experiences through data and marketing automation

Client: The Royal Danish Theater Work: Marketing automation, System integration, System architecture, Cloud infrastructure, UX- and UI design

The Royal Danish Theater wanted to strengthen audience engagement while modernising its digital ecosystem. Together with NexusOne, the theatre established a scalable marketing automation and data foundation that enables personalised communication, consistent brand experiences, and future growth.

Challenge

Founded in 1748, The Royal Danish Theater is one of Denmark’s most historic cultural institutions. As part of a major digital transformation, we established the marketing automation and data foundation required to support coherent, personalised communication across platforms and brands.

In parallel, we designed a new suite of email templates to ensure that the audience experience is not only data-driven, but also visually consistent and aligned with the theatre’s identity - from first click to final applause.

The Royal Danish Theater was replacing core parts of its digital ecosystem, including ticketing and web platforms. In this context, maintaining stable and relevant audience communication was critical.

Data was fragmented across systems, limiting the ability to activate insights across channels. At the same time, existing communication flows and email designs were not aligned with the future setup, resulting in inconsistencies in both messaging and user experience.

The challenge was therefore twofold: to unify and activate data across platforms, while elevating the quality and consistency of audience-facing communication.

Solution

We built a cohesive marketing automation in Agillic and data setup, combined with a redesigned communication layer.

This included:

  • Designing a scalable and future-proof data model to unify audience data across platforms and brands

  • Establishing and supporting integrations to ensure stable and consistent data flows

  • Implementing and configuring Agillic to enable real-time activation of audience data

  • Rebuilding and optimising communication flows based on audience behaviour and lifecycle

  • Designing and developing modular email templates, ensuring consistent UX/UI and alignment with the theatre’s visual identity

The email framework was built for flexibility and personalisation, enabling teams to create relevant communication while maintaining a strong and recognisable brand experience.

This foundation enables The Royal Danish Theater to activate audience insights effectively and deliver a more cohesive, intuitive and engaging experience across touchpoints - from first interaction to the final performance on stage and beyond.
