Ole Larsen Transport has launched a digital customer portal and cloud-based data platform that streamline freight booking and tracking. With real-time updates and all documents in one place, customers get a seamless experience while the business gains a scalable, future-proof architecture.


Challenge

In a traditional and highly analog industry with vast amounts of data, Ole Larsen Transport set an ambitious goal: to become the innovative partner and present an even more professional face to its customers. The first milestone was a new digital customer platform, forming the foundation for a three-step transformation journey: 1) digitising and qualifying data, 2) automating manual processes, and 3) unlocking the value of data.


Solution

The first step was the launch of a customer portal where Ole Larsen’s clients can order and track their freight—on any device. The portal is built around a CRM solution that digitises core processes within sales and customer service, making it easier to deliver consistent, professional experiences.

Together, NexusOne and Ole Larsen’s digital team created a roadmap for the next steps in the transformation. At the core is a cloud-based database (CDM) that ensures smooth and efficient dataflows, combined with a Service Bus that enables real-time updates based on best practices in event-driven architecture.


Result

Customers now have one booking and one view—fully tailored through self-service with extensive configuration options. Deliveries can be followed in real time, complete with notifications, while all documents—such as freight letters, packaging slips, invoices, statements and contracts—are gathered in one place. Operational reports focus on value creation, and the architecture is scalable, allowing multiple source systems to be integrated and made available across the organisation.

This new setup strengthens customer trust, reduces manual work, and positions Ole Larsen Transport as an innovative partner in an otherwise traditional industry.
