WWF has implemented a new marketing automation platform that unifies data and communication across channels. The result: personalised donor journeys, more efficient internal processes, and a scalable digital foundation for future growth.
Background
WWF is the world’s largest nature conservation organisation. In Denmark, WWF Verdensnaturfonden employs around 100 people working on nature protection and restoration projects worldwide. Funding comes from private donors, foundations, and businesses, supporting WWF’s mission to protect wildlife and create a sustainable future for people and planet.
With rapidly growing interest in the climate and nature agenda, WWF’s database of potential donors has expanded significantly in recent years. At the same time, the number of communication channels has grown – along with the need for more automation and a scalable omnichannel solution.
Solution
NexusOne partnered with WWF to design and implement Agillic as a centralised, scalable communications platform fully integrated with the organisation’s CRM system. The solution provides WWF with a solid, future-proof foundation capable of handling large volumes of donor data intelligently and efficiently.
Today, WWF can deliver personalised and relevant messages across channels like email and web – and in the future, also social media and additional platforms. Donor data such as donations, engagement history, and preferences are automatically synchronised, enabling near real-time updates and targeted campaigns.
As part of the solution, we also delivered: Customised unsubscribe pages, Integration of news articles via RSS feed, A unique data model to structure complex donor information, Training and knowledge transfer to WWF’s internal team, ensuring they can manage campaigns and flows independently.
Result
WWF now has a robust and scalable platform that streamlines internal processes and elevates external communication. Donors receive timely and relevant updates tailored to their preferences and history, while internal teams have the tools and data to operate more efficiently and independently.
By consolidating and activating data across channels, WWF has strengthened donor engagement and built a digital ecosystem ready to support growth in both reach and impact.
